Coppi directed by Antonio Poce

The video are enriched by texts written by Antonio Poce, which conclude them, using different graphics and colours-rapid, fleeting, dreamlike and evocative. An short work that recover fragments of history, of collective and personal memory; one study of the time which, through poetry, estabilish a rhythm that is to do with the eternity. Coppi is an intermedial work celebrating the mythical figure of Fausto Coppi, a biker, icon of our times. An intense work at high speed, during which images are amalgamated and come in layers, following on one from another in two film compositions full of scratches, slight tints of colour, indecision flashes, the signs of aging.

The Machine of Memory directed by Marko Batista

UK - 2006
Running Time: 01:22

Soon after I established the Video Cuts platform in London, I started to work on cross-media project related to the nature of memory in contemporary networked society. Human storage of time is entirely reconstructed by machines of memory. Computer based, display orientated, and LCD projected data storage became an extension of human memory. Traveling between time, presence and absence; Future and the Past. The poetics of the video makes you think how the technology is linked to time and storage of the past. Past, easily reconstructed by machines of memory.

Promenade directed by Jun'ichiro ISHII

Japan - 2007
Running Time: 08:30

I have made a wooden sidewalk which has the form of the symbol for infinity. Although I called this work a sidewalk, actually it does not function as one, because the required entrance and exit of a sidewalk's function are excluded due its infinity symbol form. It aims at inviting people to a meaningless promenade.

Drawing this ancient symbol in to a natural landscape, my intent was to create a non-functioning sidewalk. Infinity is a concept that attends many metaphors from ancient wisdom, often depicted by a snake which consumes its own tail eternally. This video work "Promenade" carries out the metaphor of the human society which accelerates.

VIDEO INSTALLATIONS
China's Diary directed by Alexandra Dementieva

Belgium - 2003
Running time: 17:00

To make the voyage through China to Hong Kong was a dream for a long time. Without being able to communicate with people, I let myself observe and guess. I filmed during all the travel the scenes of ordinary, daily life, by doing that the subject of my film. With the assembly the whole film it became obvious: all that I observed was the pieces, the puzzle but never a whole image.

Kiss_Bike_Kiss directed by Barbara Brugola

Italy - 2007
Running time: 08:00

As curious interlocutors of the habitat - both places and people – we asked cyclists to come with their own mini script to play their own kiss in places that in Milano are usually associated with bicycles: Martesana bicycle path, Porta Venezia park, Greco Pirelli train station. Symbolically occupying public spaces, those - not many- that are usually assigned to bicycles and making them visible through the mise-en-scene of kisses between urban cyclists has been the artistic device used to merge the interest and the pleasure of bicycling with the desire to disclose bike, not only as a character of mere everyday life, but as a pretext of new ways to live Milano. The Kiss_Bike_Kiss project was born in collaboration with a small group of people in order to be active in the territory of the city of Milano and present the bicycle as a vehicle for a point of view different from the usual one connected with escaping the town and its traffic. We were interesting to stage a private act as a kiss exchanged between individuals that used bicycle to suggest that the possible interactions in a town are not just the ones stigmatized by the places but depend on the way everyone decides to interrelate with the habitat.

Blip Bodhi directed by Lane Last

USA - 2007
Running time: 02:54

We "see and hear" before knowing or consciousness. The utilization of computing technologies and software to generate media art both as audio experience and visualization is an important artifact of our culture and technological instincts. My interest in the processes of perception tends to overlap with my belief that mediated content can in fact provide positive engaging experiences for an audience that encourages both interpretation and temporary surrender to sensory input.

Hermanet's Herb directed by Pekka Sassi

Running time: 03:21
